AS Roma captain Francesco Totti hailed their desperation for victory over Coppa Italia opponents Juventus.
Gervinho's late goal earned Roma the win.
"It was a victory we wanted at all costs. We changed from the defeat in Turin and tonight proved we are at the same level as a great Juve," Totti told Rai Sport.
"I don't see much of a distance between us, as eight points can be a lot or a little. We are having a great campaign, they are going beyond the limits.
"Obviously if we continue the way we did in the first half of the season, then we'd be close to Juve. If Juventus continue like this, then it's tough.
"This was a one-off match to reach the semi-final and we wanted it at all costs."
