Totti admits calling Toni about Roma move
Roma captain Francesco Totti has revealed he's been in contact with Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni about a return to Serie A.
“Usually when we are unable to sign a striker, the critics like to spread the rumour it was my fault,” said the captain.
“Instead three weeks ago I called Toni to ask him to join the Giallorossi. Over the years I have done the same with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Adrian Mutu, Gigi Buffon, Fabio Cannavaro and Alberto Gilardino.”
Totti added: “I put myself at the disposal of the club, I do not dictate transfer policy. I just want strong players who can do well for Roma.”
