Tottenham winger Gylfi Sigurdsson helped Reading's deal for Hoffenheim midfielder Danny Williams.

The Daily Express says before signing, Williams asked for advice from Tottenham midfielder Sigurdsson, a former team-mate in the Bundesliga who started at Reading.

He said: "I spoke with Gylfi because he is a good friend from Hoffenheim and still a great hero with the club."
