Wilshere's remarkable return from injury has cost Parker his place in the England squad that faces Brazil on Wednesday at Wembley.
But he told the Daily Star Sunday: "I played with Jack when I first came into the side against Wales and Switzerland and you could see straight away how good he was.
"In football when you train with someone for the first time it is not long before you get to realise whether someone is a good player or not. And he certainly is. He is an unbelievable footballer.
"He has had a lengthy injury but he has a child now and that will have brought stability to his life.
"There is nothing like having a little kid to do that. You realise that football isn't everything."
