Tottenham's Parker admits being "riled" by Chelsea midfielder Obi Mikel

Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker admits he saw red after his clash with Chelsea's John Obi Mikel on Sunday.

At Wembley, Obi Mikel escaped with a caution for kicking Parker.

The incident was similar to David Beckham's infamous lashing out at Argentina's Diego Simeone in the 1998 World Cup, which saw the England star sent off.

Parker, who had to be restrained by Chelsea players after Mikel caught him, said he saw parallels with the Beckham-Simeone incident.

"That was the only thing that riled me up a little bit," he said.
