Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon says LA Galaxy's David Beckham deserves to win his 100th England cap.
He told The Sun: "I was surprised when David came back into the team because the manager had more or less said he wasn't going to use him.
"He is such an important player for England. He's got quality, experience and his free-kicks alone make him worthy of his place.
"He's a different player to me. I rely on speed to get that yard of pace to cross. He uses his brain and movement.
"I learned so much from David just from training with him every day during the World Cup. So he definitely deserves to win his 100th cap next month as a reward for everything he has done for football in this country?"
Even if that comes at Lennon's expense?
"Well, maybe we can have half a game each."
