Tottenham defender Younes Kaboul admits he had to get away from Auxerre in the summer.

"At the end of my Auxerre stay, I admit I was not concerned anymore," Kaboul told L'Equipe. "I wanted to know something new. I stagnated. I was lost, absolutely not involved anymore.

"I was upset by everything. But I didn't get mad. I waited for the end of the season, and I did everything to go where I wanted to go."

On his £8 million price-tag, Kaboul added: "I don't think about that fee. That doesn't put me under additional pressure."
