Tottenham's Jol seeks LMA advice over expected sack

Martin Jol has turned to the League Managers Association for legal advice as pressure grows at Tottenham.

The Daily Mail says the White Hart Lane board gave their public backing to the Dutchman after they were caught meeting Sevilla's Juande Ramos last month. But nobody has been fooled by that, least of all their manager.

Jol has since contacted the LMA, who in turn have provided him with expert legal support in anticipation of his dismissal.

Whether Jol can sue for constructive dismissal remains to be seen but the meeting with Ramos has undermined his position and left him in little doubt his days are numbered.

After Saturday's crushing defeat to Arsenal left Tottenham reflecting on one win in six Premier League games this season, boardroom sources suggested Jol had until next month's international break to turn things around.
