Tottenham's Giovani: Palacios deserves World Cup stage

Tottenham midfielder Giovani dos Santos hopes teammate Wilson Palacios can join him at the World Cup next year.

Giovani's Mexico qualified on the weekend, while Palacios' Honduras face a must-win game against El Salvador on Saturday.

"I hope Wilson makes it," Giovani told the Spurs website. "He's my friend and I want the best for him.

"Honduras have some very good players.

"Wilson is a big player for them and if Honduras make it to South Africa I will be so happy for him."
