Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe admits it would be heartbreaking if England failed to qualify for Euro2008.

"England are in a tricky position and we can't hide from that," said Defoe.

"But to not get to the finals would be heartbreaking. As an England fan, never mind a player, I can't imagine England not being in a major tournament, so fingers crossed it works out for us and we make it through."
