Tottenham's Berbatov knew about exit before Jol

Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov knew Martin Jol was leaving the club before the Dutchman, it has been revealed.

The Daily Mail says while Jol denied being told of his sacking in advance of Tottenham's UEFA Cup clash with Getafe, it appears he may have had some inkling.

On greeting his manager in the dressing room, Berbatov appeared emotional and said: "I'm sorry, boss, I'm sorry, boss."

To which, Jol replied he did not have a clue what Berbatov was talking about - unlike the majority of Spurs fans at White Hart Lane.

It took until after the game for final confirmation when Jol spoke to his nephew Rob in the tunnel.
