Tottenham winger David Bentley is backing former club Blackburn Rovers to survive Paul Ince's dismissal.

England winger Bentley - who left Rovers for Spurs last summer - said: "I didn't want to see them go down. They're a great bunch of lads with real fighting spirit. I fully expect them to get out of it.

"I've only got good things to say about Paul Ince. It hasn't worked out because the league's so difficult this year."
