Wales assistant boss Roy Evans has tipped Tottenham fullback Gareth Bale for greatness.

The former Liverpool manager said: "Gareth looks a fantastic player. He has yet to prove that on the international stage but from my point of view he already looks a great player.

"That is why Spurs spent so much money on him. Now everyone can see why after seeing the way he has come into the Premier League this season.

"He has taken to it like a duck to water and has played really well in his two games so far against Manchester United and Fulham. And to score his debut goal like he did at Craven Cottage at the weekend showed the quality he has.

"Spurs will reap the rewards for paying that much money to get him. He has been magnificent already for us and can only get better and better."
