Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon's World Cup hopes appear doomed.

The England star, 22, has been out with a groin problem since December and suffered a series of setbacks in his recovery.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp said: "I couldn't sit here and say for sure if he will play again this season.

"There is absolutely no comeback date at all.

"He's not started outside work yet - he's not running or anything."
