Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon is delighted to be back in the England squad.

Lennon said: "I feel I'm a different player to the one who signed for Spurs back in 2005, and different still from the Aaron ­Lennon of a year ago.

"Football is all about getting the mental and physical sides right, but it's only when those two elements come together that you really get the idea that you've ­progressed.

"And over the second half of the campaign in ­particular it feels like I've stepped up to a whole new level of performance.

"Getting back into the England reckoning has definitely been one of the most pleasing ­aspects of the season for me.

I had been away from the whole set-up for a while, yet it seemed that everything came together at once - signing a new deal here, being a big part of the Spurs revival, and making my mark again on the ­international scene."
