Tottenham winger Gareth Bale admits defeat at Manchester City was hard to take.

Spurs conceded a penalty seconds after Bale's injury-time cross was almost turned in by Jermain Defoe at the end of the Premier League title clash.

Bale admitted: "Everyone in the dressing room was devastated. We took heart from the performance but everyone felt sick that we lost the game in that vein. We'll rally together and push on from here.

"We ran Man City to the wire and probably should have won if I'm honest.

"We have to pick ourselves up as quick as possible and get on with it."
