Tottenham will battle Chelsea for Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill in January.

The Sun says Chelsea are ready to pay £7million as boss Andre Villas-Boas was impressed by Cahill's partnership with Blues skipper John Terry at international level.

But Bolton have their fingers crossed that the price will be driven up with Tottenham also keen to renew their interest.
