Tottenham weigh up move for Stuttgart defender Benjamin Pavard

Tottenham are weighing up a move for Stuttgart defender Benjamin Pavard.

Pavard has shone for Didier Deschamps during this World Cup, and will offer Mauricio Pochettino an option if, as is widely anticipated, Toby Alderweireld moves onin the next few weeks.

He signed a long-term deal last December that ties him to the German club for the next three seasons.

However, Spurs would have cash to play with if Alderweireld leaves and at 22 Pavard fits the age profile favoured by chairman Daniel Levy, says the Mirror.

Pavard, who has also been used as a makeshift midfielder during his time with Stuttgart, was one of only four players to feature in every second of their last campaign.
