Tottenham are tracking Ajax winger Viktor Fischer.
The London Evening Standard says the Dane is one of the most promising players at the Dutch club and, although his contract runs until June 2017, he is expected to be one of the next high-profile departures.
Spurs scouts watched Fischer, 20, in nearly every game in which he was involved during the final three months of the 2013-14 campaign. While a bid during this window is possible, it is thought Fischer is one of the club's longer-term options.
Tottenham and Ajax have been in regular contact during recent seasons. Spurs signed Jan Vertonghen in 2012 and returned last summer to sign Fischer's compatriot, Christian Eriksen. Both players adapted well to life at White Hart Lane and Vertonghen has been offered an extension to his contract.
