Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is expected to leave Robbie Keane out of his team for today's match against Blackburn Rovers.
The Sun says manager Benitez plans to rest Keane for today's trip to Blackburn and there are even suggestions he could be sold if he does not start to deliver.
The chances of that happening in January's transfer window are highly unlikely - just six months after signing.
But the clock is ticking on Keane. And given the slightest hint of encouragement, Spurs would be sure to show interest in the man who was a cult hero there for six years.
Benitez said: "There are six months of the season left so I can pick him lots of times but I cannot guarantee a position to anyone.
"We can talk about players costing £15-20m at other teams and they are on the bench every week - but people are not talking about them.
"We have two players of this value so people talk about them. For me it is not a question of the price tag, he is just another player."
