Tottenham want the fee owed from Portsmouth for midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng.
The People says Tottenham will demand Portsmouth cough up the outstanding £2million balance of Boateng's summer transfer now Ali Al-Faraj has completed his takeover.
The German midfielder, 22, made the switch to Fratton Park in August in a deal which will eventually cost Pompey £4m.
But such was the state of the south-coast club's finances that Spurs agreed to take just half of the fee then with the rest to follow.
Now Al-Faraj has completed his takeover, Spurs owner Daniel Levy will insist Portsmouth settle their debt.
