Tottenham on the verge of Europa progression

Tottenham will need just a point in their final Europa League group stage in order to move through to the Round of 32.

Spurs battled to a 0-0 draw with Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome to sit second on the Group J table on seven points - two behind the Italians.

Former Tottenham and Lazio great Paul Gascoigne was the guest of honour in the Italian capital but the encounter was not symbolic of the type of performances the star midfielder used to produce.

Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris produced some vital saves for the North Londoners, denying Libor Kozak on two occasions, whilst Gareth Bale had a first-half goal wrongly disallowed for offside.

Andre Villas-Boas' men will now simply need a draw at home against Panathinaikos on December 6 to progress whilst Lazio take on NK Maribor in Slovenia on the same date.
