Tottenham would like to set up a swap involving Robbie Keane for Blackburn Rovers defender Christopher Samba.
The Daily Mail says Blackburn like Keane and manager Steve Kean has taken the opportunity to watch him or send scouts to recent games to run the rule over the Ireland international. The trouble is Keane is still considered too expensive at around £5.5million and wages of £70,000 a week.
The added problem is that Tottenham would rather have Samba in return and Blackburn don't want to sell the stopper, also wante by Arsenal, although the defender is ready to push the issue.
Bolton Wanderers are also admirers of Keane as are Sunderland, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Everton. They would all like to sign him but budgets dictate he is either not value for money or is simply too expensive for a 31-year-old.
