Tottenham urged to leave Kane out of Sydney trip

Former Leicester City boss Peter Taylor says Tottenham should not include Harry Kane on their trip to Australia.

Kane was named in England's U21 Euros squad yesterday.

Taylor told talkSPORT: "It's a shame Harry has to go to Australia and play that game. That's where the relationship and communication [between the clubs and the FA] should come in.

"Spurs have got a lot of players at all levels for England, but if I was Tottenham manager I'd be saying, 'if Harry's going to that tournament, this is the time [the end of season tour] we could give him a bit of a rest'.

"Then he can go to the tournament, then we can be careful with him when he comes back, then he'll fine for next season. Tottenham are still going to be popular in Australia whether Harry goes or not and that's the time they could give him a little bit of a breather.

"I know there will be commercial pressures [for him to go], and that's probably the bit I don't understand. I just understand the football bit."
