Tottenham upbeat over financial report

Tottenham management are delighted with their latest financial figures.

Tottenham have generated revenue of more than £50million for the first half of the season despite a lack of European football during the current campaign.

The figure for revenue, marginally down from £54.9m to £53.5m, is viewed as positive given Spurs' failure to reach the Europa League and has been linked with the progress under manager Harry Redknapp.

"We have enjoyed a period of consistently good performances and remained near the top of the League and in contention for Champions League qualification," read chairman Daniel Levy's statement.

"Our performances during this period, in particular the manner in which we started the season, presented the starkest of contrasts to the corresponding period the previous year which had seen our poorest ever start to a season.

"As there had been no overhaul of the squad during the summer transfer window and no major changes to key positions, these good performances were delivered by a cohesive and settled team of players."
