Tottenham U18 coach Inglethorpe excited by current group

Tottenham U18 coach Alex Inglethorpe is convinced he has some potential first teamers in his squad ahead of tonight's FA Youth Cup tie with Sheffield United.

Inglethorpe told Tottenham's website: "The huge thing is that for some of these lads it will be a first chance to play at White Hart Lane and that means a lot.

"They will go every week to watch the first team play so to actually follow them out there is a massive occasion - you have to remember that a lot of these boys have been in the Academy set-up since the age of 10 or 11.

"I've said all along that as a group of players, I think we are exceptionally talented and that is irrespective of winning the FA Youth Cup.

"The competition is a one-off, you might get through rounds you never thought you would and you might come unstuck in the same way. There is no rhyme or reason to it and in that respect it's very much like the FA Cup.

"Sheffield will be a very well organised, fit side, a great Academy with a progression of players coming through and we'll pay them every respect, but I firmly believe if we can conquer our nerves then we'll be okay."
