Tottenham are chasing Blackburn Rovers captain Christopher Samba.

The Daily Mail says Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has seen primary defensive target Gary Cahill agree to join Chelsea from Bolton and wants a proven performer to bolster his injury ravaged defence.

The 27-year-old Samba is also on QPR's list of potential targets but would prefer to join Tottenham with their Champions League chasing squad should they firm up interest.
