Tottenham are tracking Valenciennes defender Sikou Niakate.

The teen only signed pro forms with Valenciennes in November, penning terms to 2021.

Le 10 Sport says Spurs have been monitoring his progress this past year. Indeed, a Spurs scout checked on Niakate in action for VA's reserves team on the weekend.

This season, 18 year-old Niakate has made 13 appearances for the VAFC first team, with 12 as a starter.

Valenciennes do expect Spurs to make an approach for Niakate in the coming days.
