Catania defender Nicolas Spolli admits he turned down Tottenham due to the weather in Sicily.
Spurs made a move for the experienced Argentine last week.
However, Spolli revealed: "When the interest from Tottenham came in, the club didn't even need to ask me, because they knew what my reply would have been.
"This is what happened when the offer from Tottenham came in but there were other requests.
"Catania is a beautiful city.
"When you get the chance to have a couple of hours off, the sea and Mount Etna are two absolute joys for us."
