AC Siena striker Souleymane Coluibaly has thanked his Ivory Coast teammates for helping him score nine goals at the U17 World Cup in Mexico.
The talented 16-year old, who has been tracked by Tottenham and Real Madrid, equaled the record set by Frenchman Florent Sinama Pongolle but did so in just four matches as the Ivorians were beaten in the Round of 16 by France.
A humble Coulibaly said it was nice to get into good goalscoring positions during the tournament but heaped most of the praise on his teammates.
"I want to thank all those who said good things about me," Coulibaly told Fifa.com after receiving his Golden Boot award.
"My teammates and I had a wonderful moment in Mexico. The defenders ignored some spaces which I exploited to score those goals. But mostly, this recognition goes to my team-mates who assisted me."
