Emmanuel Adebayor is demanding a £5 MILLION payoff from Manchester City to complete a move to Tottenham.

The Daily Star says the Togo star, who had a successful spell on loan at Spurs last season, will have to take a huge cut in his £175,000-a-week salary to make the deal permanent.

So his advisers came up with the proposal that City compensate him by letting him have the transfer fee.

City - who reportedly paid £105,000 towards his wages last season while he was at Spurs - had no interest in agreeing to a pay-off, having splashed out £25m on the 28-year-old from Arsenal two years ago.
