Tottenham are lining up a move for Schalke midfielder Max Mayer, according to The Sun.
The 21-year old is understood to be keen to depart the Gelsenkirchen club after they failed to qualify for European competition.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino was unsuccessful in his attempts to sign Mayer last summer and instead signed Moussa Sissoko.
Back then, Schalke wanted £45m for the German, however, as Mayer enters the last year of his contract, the Bundesliga club are looking for a fee of £30m.
