Tottenham suffer setback in stadium naming rights search

HSBC have ended talks with Tottenham over the naming rights of the new stadium.

The Daily Star says the lack of stadium sponsor would be a major blow to Spurs, with the stadium possibly costing as much as £1bn.

Spurs have announced their new home will be known as the 'Tottenham Hotspur Stadium' until a sponsor is found.

Chairman of HSBC - one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world - Mark Tucker was leading the talks with Spurs.

A figure could not be agreed with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

The two men have dealt with each other before, with Tucker being the former chief executive of Tottenham's current kit sponsor AIA.
