Tottenham crock Jan Vertonghen is facing two months out with his ankle injury.
Scan results last night revealed the influential defender did suffer ankle ligament damage during the 4-0 victory over West Brom last weekend, says The Sun.
Tests on the ankle showed he had a tear between grades two and three - which left Vertonghen leaving the pitch in tears.
It means Vertonghen may be looking at the end of March for a potential return to action - casting a doubt over Spurs' title chase.
Tottenham are currently seven points behind league leaders Chelsea but are on a run of scintillating form having won seven successive matches in all competitions.
