Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen insists he has no confidence problems.

Janssen has been accused of lacking confidence in front of goal but the 22-year-old proved he does not lack self belief by firing home past Simon Mignolet in their EFL Cup defeat at Liverpool.

"When I saw the referee give the penalty I took the ball and shot it in," he told Tottenham's official website.

"For me it doesn't matter where I take the penalty it's just a penalty.

"I have enough confidence - it doesn't matter for me where it is or how long I didn't score. I wanted to score it and that's what I did."
