Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko admits a move to Anzhi does interest him.
His old team Spartak Moscow are also monitoring the situation, with boss Valery Karpin a big fan.
Pavlyuchenko added: "I'd rather go back to Russia.
"If I sign to Anzhi or not - we shouldn't go too far. Maybe I'll have only one possibility and that will be Anzhi and nothing else."
Speaking to Football Express, he added: "Karpin contacts me before each transfer period. He says he wants to take me but when the transfer window closes our connection ends.
"They keep saying they want me and my answer is - if they want me then negotiate with my club about the details."
