Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe feels he's getting back to his best.

Defoe, who struggled last season, is approaching the sort of form that made him one of the most feared marksmen in the land.

And he credits much of the improvement down to the natural partnership struck with on-loan Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

Defoe, who has five goals this season, said: "A lot of people have said the understanding we have is amazing and although we haven't played together much, it look likes we've been doing it for years.

"To be honest, though, it's been quite easy because Adebayor is such a great player.

He's been there, he's done it and he's played for some of football's biggest clubs. It's been great."
