Tottenham striker Defoe happy Ferdinand now England captain

Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe is delighted Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is taking over the England captaincy.

Defoe played with Ferdinand at West Ham United.

He's looking forward to the World Cup in South Africa in July and fully backs new England captain Ferdinand, chosen after John Terry was sacked, saying: "Rio's a legend."
