Tottenham and England striker Jermain Defoe is itching for preseason to kickoff.

"Everyone is ready for their holidays but I feel great," he told the Spurs website. "No-one wants to be injured and miss games but I was out for 12 weeks and I still feel fresh.

"The way we finished the season at Spurs showed how strong the squad is and everyone is buzzing, especially when you look back at where we were at the start of last season.

"We will all come back positive in pre-season after finishing so strongly but as I said after the England game, I'm still ready to go!"
