Tottenham striker Crouch saddened by Portsmouth plight

Tottenham striker Peter Crouch is sorry to see former club Portsmouth enter administration.

Crouch is saddened by the plight of the club he left for Spurs in a £9million move last summer and, having experienced a similar scenario at Queens Park Rangers in 2001, he hopes for a positive conclusion.

"It is horrible for any club to be in that situation," the England forward, who also played for Pompey in an initial spell at the beginning of the Millennium, told skysports.com.

"I was at Queens Park Rangers when they went into administration and you would not wish it upon anyone.

"It is a very sad situation for the club and I only hope they get themselves through it because it is a fantastic football club and the fans probably deserve more."
