Tottenham striker Peter Crouch has dismissed criticism of England coach Fabio Capello over his late team selection call.
Capello's approach of naming his team only two hours before kickoff has been blamed for Robert Green's error in England's 1-1 draw with the USA.
But Crouch said: "I don't think when the team is announced is an issue.
"At Liverpool, Rafael Benitez picked the team just before we got on the coach and we seemed to perform well.
"We could've guessed pretty much most of the team from training. Some players like to know earlier but others don't mind.
"Every one of us knows the job we have to do if we come into the team. If Emile Heskey is playing, I know I'll probably come on for him and Jermain Defoe will come on for Rooney."
