Tottenham striker Peter Crouch was delighted with his brace in their friendly win over Leyton Orient.
He insisted goals remained the all-important ingredient for all strikers.
"I was delighted with that one," the England man told the Spurs website. "I got the first goal and confidence was high after that.
"I turned the defender and my eyes lit up - it was great to see it fly into the back of the net.
"It was important to get 90 minutes playing time in but if you can score a couple of goals, that brings a lot of confidence.
"It's important as a striker to score goals. You want to get off to a flyer and hit the ground running when the season starts."
