Tottenham striker Peter Crouch admits he was hurt by his England axing for the Switzerland game.
Despite of his obvious frustrations, the honour of wearing the Three Lions will keep him reporting for duty next season - if selected.
Crouch admitted to The Sun: "Because the events of Saturday are still so fresh, I'm feeling very disappointed.
"But I'm not going to stop playing for my country because of this.
"Playing in the European Championships, the World Cup or scoring a goal at Wembley are proud, proud moments for me and for my family.
"People say that players are only interested in playing for their clubs these days. But for me, playing for my country is the pinnacle. It's a proud moment every time I pull on the England shirt."
