Tottenham striker Berbatov wants Barcelona move

Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov is keen to seal a move to Barcelona.

The Mirror says Spanish giants Barcelona have jumped ahead of Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Manchester United as the favourites to land him.

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola is close to ex-teammate Hristov Stoichkov and his link with fellow Bulgarian Berbatov has proved crucial.

Barcelona also hope that their relationship with Spurs may help after they sold them Mexican wonderkid Giovani Dos Santos for a bargain £6m.

Tottenham don't want to lose their star man but know he wants to leave and hope to get the best deal possible.

However, they would rather sell to a foreign club than another English side and will quote United a price of £30m-plus while they may accept around £25m from Barcelona.
