Tottenham striker Darren Bent has hit out at his critics.

He told The Sun: "I was barely given a chance last season. You can't score goals if you're not playing.

"And it's not helped that we have got off to a bad start this campaign. But I'm sure once we turn things round, the goals will start to go in. This is definitely my big opportunity to prove I'm worth the money that Tottenham spent on me."
