Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor has shrugged off his spotkick howler.

Tottenham lost their Europa League quarter-final shootout away to Swiss outfit FC Basel on Thursday after Adebayor failed to score.

He said: "It was a tough one. You run around for 120 minutes.

"You give everything you have in your stomach and you are tired and then, at the end of the day, you have to take a penalty.

"You play with 10 men for the last 30 minutes and on top of that you have to take a penalty, and the pressure is there when you take the ball... you know.

"It's not the reason why we missed - we had to score, but it's not easy."
