Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor is considering ending his international retirement.
Adebayor, 27, quit as Hawks captain following a machine-gun attack on the team bus during the African Nations Cup in Angola last year.
Three of his friends died in the incident.
But Adebayor is showing interest in joining Togo's bid to qualify for the 2014 World Cup after talks.
Togo FA vice-president Herve Piza said: "We hope and believe our efforts will come to fruition.
"Adebayor expressed a desire to rejoin the team towards the end of the 2012 African Nations Cup qualifying campaign.
"He eventually chose to stay back. But the World Cup is important to him."
