Tottenham winger Andros Townsend is grateful to manager Andre Villas-Boas for backing him this season.

He reckons he owes both Villas-Boas and previous Spurs boss Harry Redknapp, who took him to QPR on loan last season, a huge debt.

Townsend said: "I have to thank my manager at Tottenham for giving me the chance this season - ahead of a lot of experienced players.

"And last season Harry Redknapp gave me a chance to play Premier League?football when others were undecided about me - for which I will be forever grateful."
