Harry Kane sent a message to the Premier League rivals that Tottenham are finally ready to make their own history.
TheEngland captain scored the first goal in a derby match against Man United before Lucas Moura sealed the big win with a brace.
"We are trying to create our own history," Kane told Sky Sports.
"We haven't been top of the league year after year winning titles like United and Chelsea so the only way to do that is prove everyone wrong and keep challenging for titles.
"We have got that drive and hunger to take this club to the next level. For us it is about building on what we have built for the past four or five years."
Kane also declared his support for manager Mauricio Pochettino.
He added: "The gaffer said he won't bring in players for the sake of it, he believes in the squad and that's a huge bonus for us. We have to prove him and the club right."
