Tottenham forward Harry Kane is backing Daniel Levy's calls to focus on the club's academy players rather than overspending on outside targets.
The Spurs chief stated publicly yesterday that the club was not worried about their inactivity in the transfer market and that they would rather promote academy players than spend money for the sake of it.
The north London club are yet to buy a single player this summer, with Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United each having already spent over £100m.
But Kane, who is a product of the club's academy, believes Spurs young players should gain confidence from Levy's comments.
"It helps them to hear that," the 23-year old said.
"It would have helped me to have that confidence from the chairman, the belief from him that they don't need to buy other players which has happened so often in the English game now.
"It's the perfect situation. If that's what he said, then the young lads are there to make a chance and do the best they can."
